The Motor Trade Partnership gives consumers the confidence that they are dealing with a reputable trader who has made a commitment to fair and honest practices by becoming a member of the Partnership.
A motor car is a major expense and when something goes wrong it can be a great concern. At West Yorkshire Trading Standards we realise that some consumers are somewhat apprehensive when it comes to buying a car or simply choosing where to have their vehicle serviced or repaired.
The aim of the scheme is to improve standards within the motor industry and increase consumer confidence in the sector. The scheme is administered by West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service. The Motor Trade Partnership works with businesses in the following sectors:
- New vehicle sales (cars, motorbikes, light haulage)
- Used vehicle sales
- Repairs and servicing
- Sale and fitting of parts and accessories
Cars are an expensive item to buy and with MOTs, services and repairs for motoring problems, costs soon mount up. There’s no escaping the fact they are going to cost you money and when parting with your hard earned cash you want to know you are not getting ripped off.
The Motor Trade Partnership was set up to work in partnership with West Yorkshire garages; striving to achieve a high level of customer service and regain consumer confidence, in an industry that has suffered at the hands of a minority of rogue traders. We aim to give West Yorkshire consumers extra reassurance when buying, servicing or having repairs made to a motor vehicle.
In 2009 we received national recognition for the scheme’s standards of customer care, with its acceptance into the Local Authority Assured Trader Scheme Network (LAATSN).
